Yonkers is our biggest town in Club West by far. More members live here than anywhere else in the county, and it makes sense. Yonkers has the restaurants, the waterfront, the proximity to the city, and enough going on that you could build a full social life here without ever crossing the county line. The missing piece was always other women to do it with.

Club West is a social club for women 21+ in Westchester County. Membership is $10 a month. You get access to regular events, a private Discord where people talk every day, and discounts at local businesses across the county.

Why Yonkers women join

A lot of our Yonkers members moved here from the city during or after the pandemic. They came for the space, the Metro-North access, the lower rent compared to Manhattan or Brooklyn. But the trade-off was immediate: the social life they had in the city did not follow them.

Others have been in Yonkers for years but watched their social circles get smaller. Friends moved, relationships ended, kids grew up and stopped being a built-in excuse to see other adults. The common thread is the same: you like where you live, you just do not know enough people here.

Neighborhoods our members live in

We have members spread across Yonkers. The biggest clusters are in the waterfront area around the Hudson River Museum and Beczak Environmental Education Center, downtown near Getty Square, and the neighborhoods along Central Park Avenue. We also have members in Crestwood, Bronxville-adjacent areas near Lawrence Street, and up toward the Grassy Sprain area.

Events happen at venues throughout southern Westchester, so whether you are closer to Riverdale or closer to Hastings, there is usually something nearby.

What Yonkers members are into

The most popular activities among our Yonkers members are fitness events, brunches, and happy hours. We run group hikes, yoga, and fitness classes at partner studios. Brunches rotate through spots across the county. Happy hours happen at bars and restaurants throughout southern Westchester.

The Discord is where a lot of the day-to-day connection happens. Someone posts at 2 PM asking if anyone wants to grab dinner in Yonkers and has a group by 3. Restaurant recommendations, outfit checks, random life updates. It runs all day.

Where to eat in Yonkers

Our members have strong opinions about food in Yonkers. A few spots that come up constantly in the Discord:

• X2O Xaviars on the Hudson for a special occasion dinner with waterfront views
• Dolphin for no-frills seafood that locals have been going to for decades
• Luso for Portuguese food on McLean Avenue
• Guapo for Mexican food in the Ridge Hill area
• The Cookery for cocktails and American food downtown
• Kisco River Eatery (nearby Mount Kisco) for brunch worth the drive

For coffee, Grassy Sprain Bagels is a regular suggestion. For a quick weeknight dinner, members like the options along Central Park Avenue and in Cross County Shopping Center.

Things to do in Yonkers

Yonkers has more going on than most people realize, especially if you are new here.

• Untermyer Gardens is one of the most underrated spots in the county. Free admission, Persian-style gardens, and Hudson River views. Our members organize walks here.
• The Hudson River Museum runs exhibitions, events, and a planetarium. Good for a solo afternoon or a group outing.
• Ridge Hill has shopping, restaurants, and a movie theater. It is the go-to for a casual evening out.
• Cross County Shopping Center just went through a renovation and has new restaurants and stores.
• The Yonkers waterfront along the Hudson is good for walking, running, or just sitting outside with coffee.
• Tibbetts Brook Park has a pool in summer and trails year-round.

Fitness in Yonkers

Several of our partner studios are in or near Yonkers, so members get discounted rates. The fitness events we run are some of the most popular in the club. Group workouts take the pressure off showing up solo, and a lot of members say the fitness events were where they made their first friends in Club West.

For trails, the Old Croton Aqueduct runs through Yonkers and connects to trails going north through Hastings and Dobbs Ferry. We organize group hikes on it regularly.

How it works

You fill out a short sign-up form, get approved, and then you are in the Discord. Events get posted there first. Most are members-only. We also run a few public events throughout the year if you want to check things out before joining.
