Women’s fitness classes in Westchester County

One of the first things our members ask about when they join Club West is fitness. Not in a “New Year’s resolution” way. More like, “I want to work out but I do not want to do it alone and I do not know where to go.”

Fair. Westchester has a million fitness options and most of them are either expensive boutique studios or giant gyms where nobody makes eye contact. Finding a class where you actually enjoy the workout and the people is harder than it should be.

Here is what our members are into and what we have learned from running fitness events for the past two years.

What Club West members actually do

We have run fitness events across Westchester since 2023. The ones that get the most sign-ups, consistently, are yoga, Pilates, dance classes, and pickleball. In the summer, outdoor stuff like hiking and paddleboarding picks up a lot.

The common thread is that none of these feel like punishment. Nobody is showing up to get yelled at by a trainer. The vibe is more “do something active with people you like” than “burn 800 calories or you failed.”

Yoga and Pilates

These are by far the most popular with our members. We run group classes at studios across the county, usually at a discounted rate for members. The appeal is obvious: you get a real workout, it is not intimidating if you are a beginner, and there is usually time to talk before and after class.

If you are looking for yoga or Pilates classes in Westchester on your own, the smaller studios tend to be better for meeting people. The big chains have good classes but nobody really talks to each other.

Dance classes

These are always a surprise hit. We have done salsa, hip hop, and ballet-inspired classes and every single one fills up fast. There is something about dancing badly together that makes people bond immediately. Nobody is good at it. Everyone is laughing. You leave with three new Instagram follows and plans for brunch the next weekend.

Pickleball

Pickleball took over Westchester and we leaned into it. Our members play at courts across the county and it has become one of those activities where the game is almost secondary to the socializing. If you have been curious about pickleball but felt weird showing up alone, our events are a good way to try it.

Outdoor activities

Seasonal, obviously, but spring through fall we do hikes, outdoor yoga, paddleboarding, and pool days. Westchester has genuinely great parks and trails and most of them are underused on weekday evenings. Our outdoor events tend to be smaller and more casual, which a lot of members prefer.

How it works with Club West

Fitness events get posted in our Discord and members RSVP through the app. Most are subsidized so you are paying less than you would booking a class on your own. We pick the studios, handle the reservations, and you just show up.

Beyond the organized events, members constantly post in Discord looking for workout buddies, sharing studio recommendations, and organizing their own gym meetups. Once you know a few people, it stops being “going to a fitness class” and starts being “meeting my friends for Pilates.”

Membership is $10 a month and you can apply here.
